Gayle Guyardo Receives First HCCF Award

On Saturday, January 3, 2015, Tampa Bay newscaster Gayle Guyardo of News Channel 8 became the first recipient of the Hillsborough County Century Families certificate from the Florida Genealogical Society (Tampa). The award commemorates her family's residence in Hillsborough County for over 100 years. In addition to the certificate, she and the members of her family were given handsome pins with the design of the logo shown in the first photo below.
 
Participating in the awards ceremony were: Drew Smith, President of the Florida Genealogical Society (Tampa); Susan Jones, Chair of the Florida Genealogical Society's Awards Committee; Joe Stines, Director of the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library System; and Matt Knight, Coordinator of the University of South Florida Tampa Library Special Collections. Gayle's parents, Joseph and Joann Guagliardo, were in attendance and received HCCF pins, and Gayle's husband, Mark Pichowski, was also present for the occasion.

      Florida Tampa Library Special Collections, presented
      an overview of some of the materials from the collection
      that are of especial interest to genealogists. These
      include naturalization records, county marriage records,
      local funeral home books, and more.

Gayle's parents, Joseph and Joann Guagliardo, were also presented with HCCF pins to commemorate their family's induction into the program.
 
    
 
Also attending were Mario Nuñez and Steve Cannella of the Tampa Natives Show, who showed great interest and support of the HCCF program.
