April 4, 2020 @ 10:15 am - 10:45 am EDT

Due to COVID-19 we are hosting this meeting as a webinar.  Click here to register for the webinar.  We are having our entire meeting, including the DNA Special Interest Group, via the webinar.  Here is the schedule:

10:00 – 10:15 – Opening remarks and general society news
10:15 – 10:45 – DNA Special Interest Group
10:45 – 10:55 – Break
10:55 – 11:00 – Door prize, recap general society news
11:00 – 12:30 – Featured speaker – Maureen Taylor

FGS Tampa is offering a DNA Special Interest Group.  Over the next four months we are pleased to have Jean Sanner present information on how to work with DNA results.  She will cover foundational concepts of DNA testing for genealogy and specifically autosomal tests. If you are intimidated by the test results or if you don’t know how to work your matches or you don’t have confidence in any DNA based conclusions, then this group is a great place to start.

Here are the four scheduled presentations:
  • March “I was asleep for most of biology class, I’ll never be able to do this.”
  • April: “Keys to Success: Focus and Organization”
  • May: “Key to Success: Knowing Your Testing Company Tools”
  • June: “Case Study: Uncovering Irish Counties of Origin”
