FGS Tampa Special Interest Group – DNA

June 6 @ 10:15 am - 10:45 am EDT

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every month that begins at 10:15 am on day First of the month, happening 4 times

FGS Tampa is offering a DNA Special Interest Group.  Over the next four months we are pleased to have Jean Sanner present information on how to work with DNA results.  She will cover foundational concepts of DNA testing for genealogy and specifically autosomal tests. If you are intimidated by the test results or if you don’t know how to work your matches or you don’t have confidence in any DNA based conclusions, then this group is a great place to start.
Here are the four scheduled presentations:
  • March “I was asleep for most of biology class, I’ll never be able to do this.”
  • April: “Keys to Success: Focus and Organization”
  • May: “Key to Success: Knowing Your Testing Company Tools”
  • June: “Case Study: Uncovering Irish Counties of Origin”
Meetings are from 10:15am to 10:45am, sharp, at John F. Germany Library before regular FGS-Tampa meetings. We will meet in the conference room of the Florida History and Genealogical Library located on the 4th floor of the library.
