A Place for Writers
This page is for participants in the FGS Tampa Writing Workshop. The workshop is for active members.
During the workshop you can expect to learn about different writing methods, story themes and arcs, story structure, bringing your ancestors into historical context, citations, much more. This interactive workshop requires participation and work outside of the monthly session.
Each month we ask participants to write a short narrative to present. The target is around 450 – 1200 words or about 1-3 pages. You can pick your own topic or use one of our monthly prompts. I ask that you submit your narrative a week prior to the meeting (i.e., the 2d Wednesday of the month) so our workshop members can have a chance read it.
Additionally, each of you should read to ready at least one of the other workshop participant’s narratives and be prepared to provide constructive feedback.
Next Meeting
The Writing Workshop meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month via Zoom. You only need to register once.
