Collection, Recording, and Evaluating Research
Handout for Sheila Benedict’s presentation on 4 September 2021.
When doing genealogical or historical research, all sources, especially originals but also derivatives, and authored must be completely researched and cited. The information must be analyzed, one to the other, to correlate and prove every step of the way. This presentation will illustrate the importance of not only collecting the sources, but also evaluating the information contained in those sources, and then proving them – one to the other- and their accuracy. Analysis is vital as is relevance to the research project. A variety of documents will be discussed and reviewed to put all the information into perspective.
