The Florida Genealogical Society of Tampa serves it’s local genealogical community and the genealogical community around the world by engaging in a variety of interesting and rewarding service projects. For more information about any of these projects, contact our FGS project director, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This program began in 2014 by the Florida Genealogical Society in Tampa. Its purpose is to recognize and honor persons whose families have lived inside the boundaries of modern-day Hillsborough County, Florida, for at least 100 years. Transcribe FGS Library Index Cards
Event Chair: Rosemarie Neville
In conjunction with the Florida History and Genealogical Library (FHGL), we are seeking volunteers to help transcribe index cards of previous FGS -Tampa member’s family trees. The objective is to get this information online and indexed. Once complete, the entire FHGL holdings will be indexed and placed online.
What will I do:
- You will receive a PDF file of some index cards
- You will then transcribe the contents of the index cards into an online spreadsheet.
- Once you finish your list of names (cards), notify Rosemarie that you are done.
Where can I do this?
- You can do this project from anywhere you have access to the Internet. Home, coffee shop, or the library.
